Case studies

The case studies on this page highlight examples of good practice in applying the principles and practices of the Code of Practice for Statistics. Each case study relates to a specific principle of the Code.

This page also contains case studies of voluntary application – where organisations have voluntarily applied the Code pillars to their data, statistics or analysis which are not official statistics.

Trustworthiness, Quality and Value case studies are written by the Office for Statistics Regulation, whereas voluntary application case studies are written by the organisations applying the Code.

The Government Analysis Function (AF) also publishes case studies on successful improvements to the quality of AF statistics in line with the AF Quality Strategy.
